In honor of Whitman’s 200th birthday, celebrate the Bard of Brooklyn with music and poetry. The Phil Woodmore singers perform music from the era and at 4 pm poets Dorianne Laux, Joseph Millar, and other invited guests read “Crossing Brooklyn Ferry”. In partnership with Brooklyn Public Library, this event occurs simultaneously with readings of the poem at each of BPL’s 59 branches.
